BUDGET FRIENDLY WINDOW TREATMENTS FOR A LARGE WINDOW TREATMENT

AND IDEAS FOR MAKING A SITTING AREA COZY.

Last year Dwayne and I purchased our dream home. We moved into our home on September 1, 2019. From that day on, I have been a one-woman show. I oversaw transforming this house into a home.  We have over 4500 square footage of space, not including the basement and garage. We did some small renovation to the home, added new floors to the family room, doing a whole paint job on half of the house. I decorated five bedrooms making one of them my home office. This spring we planned and scheduled to do a renovation on our master bedroom and kitchen than boom COVID hit us and everything was shut down. No construction. My bedroom is a big open space with a bay window with a sitting area. Since I could not get my dream room, I thought I would at least fix it on a budget to make it look beautiful and comfortable. I don’t want to spend a ton of money decorating our master bedroom, and next year we are doing a total gut job of the room. I’m going to share how I transform this window space in my room and turn it into a relaxing oasis.

First I added new seating cushions to my bench, I order from amazon a sofa covering, it was extra big but I fold it to make it smaller. I paid 19.99 for the cover.

I also purchase my curtain from amazon went with a dark green color to coordinate with my other styles I have for the area. Purchase Price was $24.95

So I had purchase a rug from Wayfair  a couple of months back to go in my guest bedroom, when I received it, the color didn’t match the description online, I called way fair to let them know about it, they refunded me the whole purchase price and let me keep the rug. They have one of the best Customer Service. They always correct their mistakes..I added a little small table to the side of the bench for decorating purpose and I can put my laptop or book on top of it. I purchase this small table about two years ago from one of my Airbnb homes we add. Only paid 10 bucks for it from TJ Maxx

I purchased My Potted Stand from Home Goods, they had an amazing sale when their stored open back up, I purchase two of these Mid-Century Wood Flowerpot for $15 dollars.

To really get the feeling of an oasis I added a plant to give the room a nice feel and it bring good air to the room. I purchase all my house plans from Lowes. I paid 40 bucks for it.

Its always good to have a big pillow on your bench especially if you going to be lounging on it. I snag two large pillows from Target for 20 bucks each.

Whenever you want to update a room or space in your home, always look first at what you already have available. That’s the first thing I do when I’m redesigning part of my house, I make furniture and accessory and try to make use of them for a space I need to decorate. I spent 150 dollars transforming this area of my room that once was called an odd space.
