Last Week in Fashion: RIHANNA FENTY FASHION SHOW

Last week Rihanna put on another spectacular non-stop show with her Savage Fenty X Vol. 3 Lingerie line.

She had a slew of celebrities walking her runway, including Normani, Gigi Hadid, Joan Smalls, Jazmine Sullivan, Emily Ratajkowski, to name a few.

The runway was fierce and energetic. It was a traditional runway show infused with a lot of choreographed moves. The signature look was urban, sexy, and edgy all in one. There were many colorful pieces, which consisted of fabric such as leather, lace, and chiffon. There were countless patterns used for nightgowns, bras, panties, boxers, a silk purple maillot with a marabou trimmed robe as worn by model Alek Wek.

Also, an elegant black lace floor-length robe made a grand entrance during a performance on self-process "Urban Soul New Age Witch" Erykah Badu, who also topped off this ensemble by sporting a large black top hat.

The set design was magical, sleek, and sexy. The singing performances were phenomenal and were from Ricky Martin, Normani, Jazmine Sullivan, and Daddy Yankee, among countless others.

While Savage x Fenty prides itself on having plenty of fresh faces in its casting, this year's edition includes a very familiar face of one of the O.G. supermodels: Cindy Crawford (Billboard, 2021).

Business-wise Rihanna is concentrating exclusively on her Lingerie line and has terminated her ready-to-wear clothing line at the beginning of this year.

This is the new way to showcase Lingerie fashion. Rihanna is considered a renegade in the fashion world and as quoted by (WWD, 2020), "Rihanna, by contrast, used pregnant women, as well as models with disabilities and dwarfism in her shows, something that — despite the industry's fast-paced intensity — is still relatively new in mainstream fashion."

The soiree was so fabulous. The 40-minute segment was picked up and aired on Amazon Prime starting last Friday, September 24th. This gives a new meaning to what a fashion show should be. Diversity, flexibility, Broadway, pizazz, and fashion all wrapped up in one.
