Limoncello Spritz

Updated: Jun 29, 2022

This limoncello spritz is a colorful and tasty twist on the classic Italian Spritz Veneziano

The typical Spritz Veneziano or Aperol Spritz consists of Aperol, Prosecco, and soda water. And although it's super tasty, I wanted to change it. I love lemon, and there's nothing like limoncello in lemon liqueur. So, I replaced the Aperol with limoncello and used tonic water instead of soda; why not? Add some fresh mint and lemon wedges, and this limoncello spritz is beautiful to look at and refreshing. This limoncello spritzer with prosecco recipe is light and refreshing without being too sweet or too lemony as if that was possible. This limoncello spritz tastes like summer in a cocktail glass, no matter what time you enjoy it. I enjoy remaking classic drinks and putting my unique twist on the recipe.

As some of my readers know, I'm a retired bartender. I bartended while I was in college, and when Dwayne and I purchased our dream home almost three years ago, the house came with a built-in custom bar. I was in love with the home.

It sold it for me with the other benefits of having a huge yard, something you don't get in New York. Well, anyway, let me get to the point I'm always behind the bar, constantly coming up with new drinks that I can serve for my gatherings and drinks to share on my blog. This was another hit drink that my friends fell in love with, and This Limoncello Spritz is the perfect drink to serve in the summertime and a vast gathering. You can make a pitcher out of it. Perfect for a Mother's Day brunch or a baby shower. But the best part is this drink can be served all year round. Who doesn't love lemon and prosecco?

So simple to make. You don’t need any special equipment to make this summery drink. No cocktail shaker or Martini glasses for this one!

What you need to make this drink:

  • Prosecco (3 oz)

  • St. Germain (1 oz)

  • Tonic Water (1 oz)

  • Limoncello Liqueur (Preferably Chilled) (2 oz)

  • Citrus Vodka (1 0z)

  • Tangy Lemon Italian Soda (1 oz)

  • Mint (1 sprig)

  • Fresh Lemons (3 slice)
