How to Make homemade Pizza Dough

Ingredients:

1 cup warm water

2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast

1 tablespoon honey

1 teaspoons salt

2 tablespoons olive oil or canola oil

3 cups bread flour

  • If possible, in a large mixing bowl, that of a stand mixer, whisk yeast and honey into warm water. Let it Sit for about 5-10 minutes or until bubbles form, and the mixture starts to foam. This tells you that the yeast is alive and rising. Pour in salt, half the flour and mix, and oil.

  • Now pour in salt, vegetable oil, and half the flour and mix. Once that flour is incorporated, start adding flour in bit by bit until you get the pizza dough to the consistency you want, slightly tacky, but it does not stick to your hands when you touch it.

  • Once you reach this step, knead for six minutes.! it is imperative to knead for the whole six minutes. That seems to be the number to make the dough perfect. The dough should be smooth and easy to work with. The bowl should be clean! {*This is the point when you could freeze your dough!! Divide into sections, place into freezer bags, seal removing all air, and freeze. To use, remove from the freezer, and sit out to get to room temperature and double in size; 2-4 hours. Then use as you would like.}

Lightly grease the bowl and the dough so it does not dry out. Cover with plastic wrap and let it rise 1-2 hours. That is it, and you got yourself some pizza dough. Hope you guys enjoy this recipe. Let me know how your pizza dough recipes turn out.
