Pretty in Pink
As you all know, I have been experimenting in my home bar. I am a fan of juicing, so I also have a leftover of herbs and fruits. So, I came up with a smooth adult beverage for the summer’s parties and Bar B Ques to turn a healthy smoothie into a summer cocktail.
Fresh raspberries and basil muddled together and paired with vodka and basil; this healthier cocktail recipe is a match made in heaven!
1 oz. of simple syrup
3 Basil leaf
1 lime wedge
1/2 cup of Fresh raspberry
1.5 oz. Vodka
Agave – Or any sweetener. This brings out the sweetness and juices of the raspberries
Fresh berries + Basil – To bring out the fresh flavors!
Vodka – Can substitute with gin, tequila, or even rum!
Start by muddling the raspberry and basil using a mortar and pestle.
Do not own a mortar and pestle? That is okay! You can crush the berries and basil on a cutting board with the bottom of a mug or mason jar. Then add to a small bowl and mix in the Simply Syrup.
This step helps release the juices in the berries and basil. Divide the raspberry basil mixture among the glasses and add a few ice cubes. Measure and pour in vodka (or spirits of choice)
Garnish with a berry slice and a sprig of Basil and you got yourself a fancy healthy-ish cocktail!
