Driving to Lake George can be a fantastic experience as various rest stops offer great entertainment and opportunities to take stunning photos.



One of the must-visit stops is Opp, which boasts a giant "I Love NY" sign outside and a mini-museum that showcases the area's rich history. Another excellent rest stop is at 386 Big Boom Rd in Queensbury, where you can take a break, relax, and enjoy some delicious food before continuing your journey to Lake George. These rest stops are perfect for those who want to make the most of their road trip and explore the region's beauty.


Day 1: Arrival and Exploration



Morning: Arrive in Lake George. Check into your accommodation, whether it's a cozy cabin, lakeside hotel, or campground.


Late Morning/Early Afternoon: Explore the Village of Lake George. Stroll along Canada Street, the main thoroughfare, lined with shops, restaurants, and attractions. Be sure to stop by Shepard Park, where you can enjoy views of the lake and maybe catch a live performance or event.

During our trip to Lake George, we had the pleasure of dining at The Log Jam, which quickly became my favorite restaurant of the trip. Their salad bar is simply fantastic and the seafood they serve is some of the freshest and most delicious I have ever tasted.


Another highlight of the trip was visiting LA Bella Vista, where we were treated to breathtaking views while enjoying their excellent cocktails.

 

Depending on the time of year you visit, there are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy. However, if you prefer to stay indoors, several hotels have great pools to relax in.



For those looking for more physical activities, we visited the Guns & Ammo gun range, which was a fantastic group outing. Overall, our trip to Lake George was unforgettable, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a perfect combination of adventure, relaxation, and great food.
