What a Rich Auntie Wore to Brunch at Oheka Castle

What a rich auntie wore to brunch: Imagine this: You're all set for a fabulous brunch with your loved ones. Sitting by the window, you watch the raindrops dance against the glass, eagerly anticipating the mouth-watering meal that's about to come your way. Dressing up for brunch is not just a matter of keeping up with the latest fashion trends - it's an opportunity to showcase your unique style and personality.

For this occasion, you're flaunting a pair of sleek leather pants from Zara that effortlessly hug your curves, teamed with a comfortable yet stylish turtleneck from Donna Karen and a sophisticated shawl from Fendi. The sleek heels from Saint Laurent, sunglasses from Alice+ Olivia, elegant earrings from Chanel, and classic Birkin bag are perfect for your look.

You're not afraid to experiment, so you've opted for an eye-catching wig from Hair Are Us and a chic hat from Dior to keep your hair dry in the rain. The result is a look that exudes confidence and style, making you feel like a million bucks as you step out for a fun brunch with your husband.

Okay, so I told you what a rich auntie wore to brunch; let me tell you where I dined for brunch with my husband today. We went to the famous Oheka Castle. This place has a lot of rich history. OHEKA CASTLE is a French-style chateau built on Long Island by Otto Hermann Kahn in 1919. It was the second-largest private residence ever built in America. It served as a summer home for Kahn, where he hosted lavish parties and regularly entertained royalty, heads of state, and Hollywood stars. After Kahn died, the estate changed hands several times, serving different purposes.

In 1984, developer Gary Melius purchased OHEKA and the remaining 22 acres surrounding the estate and began restoring the Castle to its original grandeur. Architects, historians, and researchers were brought in to corroborate every detail.

After $40 million in restoration, OHEKA CASTLE is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a member of Historic Hotels of America® and Historic Hotels Worldwide®.

The Castle is known for being one of the world's most recognized prestigious wedding venues and has been the backdrop to many notable movie and TV productions.

The OHK Bar in the Oheka Castle restaurant offered a special Prix Fixe menu to celebrate Christmas. The theme of today's brunch was "Brunch with Santa and Mrs. Claus," which added a festive touch to the already impressive setting.

Guests could enjoy a lavish three-course meal for $125 per adult and $40 per child.

Starting with the first course, I opted for the Avocado Toast with poached eggs. I'm not a fan of runny eggs, so I requested the eggs to be cooked hard. The toast was made with seven-grain bread, served with arugula, heirloom tomatoes, extra-virgin olive oil, and an artisan mixed green salad featuring a fresh farm egg.

My husband, Dwayne, chose the Piazza Tapas board, which was a delightful mix of chorizo, prosciutto di parma, parmesan Reggiano, mozzarella, artichokes, olives, mixed nuts, grapes, and fig jam, all served with water crackers.

I ordered the Shrimp Scampi with capellini pasta for the second course, made with a delicious white wine sauce.

Dwayne went for the Chicken Cordon Bleu, breaded with Panko and served with a creamy mushroom Dijon sauce. Finally, to end the meal on a sweet note, we indulged in some dessert.

I chose the classic Crème Brulee, while Dwayne went for Oheka Castle's famous Chocolate Layer Cake, made with rich European chocolate and fresh whipped cream.

The OHK Bar in Oheka Castle is my favorite place to enjoy brunch. The entire experience is unforgettable, as you want delicious food and impeccable service within a real-life castle. The ambiance and decor are breathtaking, and I would give this brunch a perfect 10 out of 10 for food, service, and design.
